Mal de ojo. Evil eye

(4) Había cosas increíblemente hermosas y a buen precio.

Just like in similar occasions (1), I was walking slowly, chatting with the companion of the moment (2). One eye set on my companion, one looking to the other side. One ear fixed in the words of my companion, one fixed on the world around us. Though everything was mouth-watering, I managed to resist (4).
Then the situation got to unsuspected borders (5).
We turned around the corner and there, al about fifty metres I saw that. Actually, an inexplicable magnetism had reached me before, when the goosebumps on the back of my neck --later I knew where it came from-- and then I saw it. And I could resist no more.
That glassy, non blinking look, fixed like an irresistible corpse. And I had to take it home, on a long trip (6) --full of stones (7) on the road, my grandma would say.
And now it's there, undaunted but atractive. Meanwhile, I'm here, racking my own brains, trying to figure out what to do about it(8).

(1) Shopping.
(2) In this case, Claubochis.
(3) The square where the flea market is.
(4) There were amazing things at unbelievable prices.
(5) The borders were thos trims I got at the same stand where I got some german silver cutlery, at 2 pesos each piece. The cost of each trim was the same.
(6) From Mar del Plata to my hometown, Posadas.
(7) My son had gathered stones and seashells at the beach, and I got some quartz at the flea market, near the stand where I got the trims (when my grandma used the expression "stones ont the road" she meant obstacles or undesirable people you encounter on the road).
(8) That dammed doll eye kept hypnotizing me from the table where it layed, on the market. It still does, from my own table. Don't know what to do with it. Anyway, I'll figure something out.
